Earthquake Gas Shutoff Installation for Electrical Contractors
The Solid State Seismic Shutoff — MK6
The MK6 is an electronic earthquake detection and gas isolation system. It continuously monitors ground acceleration and fires its output relay within 10 milliseconds of threshold exceedance — closing gas supply valves automatically before destructive shaking arrives.
Two variants available:
AC variant — 230V with internal battery backup
Standard installation for buildings with mains power. Internal NiCad battery maintains operation for up to 24 hours under mains failure.
DC variant — 12, 24, 110, or 230V from a no-break supply
For remote, substation, and battery-backed installations. No internal battery — continuity provided by the no-break supply.
Both variants share the same sensing, sensitivity settings, and relay output configuration.
